i wish i could go back to the days of innocence and not understanding all
the problems and issues - plus the list of things i had to know - and be able to
do - before i could go sailing. It took me about 10 years to find out how
much i allegedly did not know about - simple boats without radar TV A/C
watermakers invertors chargers powerful autopilots integrated instrument systems
and ENGINES - things were much simpler and easier with fewer things to worry
about. We just went out and did it AND survived to tell the tale - must write
a book one day :-) It seems to me that if you have a desire and an interest
in sailing you will survive and enjoy learning as you go - (for sure i know
one couple who are about to do that with a new boat) - worked for me and a
few thousand millions of others before me - do you think the Vikings or
Columbus did a shore course before they went off on their voyages - i think there
are few things left in this world with as much frredom and self reliance as
just going sailing -and yes i know you have tow me home services and things like
that out there HELP YUK!!!!!
also the definition of cognizant is : knowledgeable of something especially
through personal experience so you really have to go do it before you can be
cognizant :-)
regards
David
