Your wife got any sister with similar ideas, or if you are really sure
yours is to craaaazy for you?
Mine is scared to death just thinking about stepping on a boat and
anything above 0 bft is considered hurricane :-((
After your sailing introduction, whenever you decide to live on board,
just before you buy something above 38', maybe you test a lightweight
modern catamaran, you will be surprised how comfortable they are, and
yes, they do not sink, they do not loose keels, all what happens looks

Without knowing what really happened, it looks like the old rule:
If you do net step from your masttop into the water, you step to early.
