It is too good to be true. We get to use the boat for 9 weeks during the slow season. Which means not during the winter months. From end of Nov. to end of April. If you choose to use it during the winter months you get fewer weeks. We go to the BVI 2 weeks in June, 2 weeks during Thanksgiving and 6 weeks around the world in their other ports. Have been to Tahit, Belize; going to Greec in Sept/05 and planning to go to Turkey and Croatia in 2006 & 2007.

You put down 25%, the Moorings makes mortgage payments plus a few hundred dollars more to you. You pay off the mortgage and keep the extra cash to do what you want. The Moorings pays for everything that you can imagine to maintain the boat. You have no expenses for the boat for 5 years. When you use a boat you pay for daily expenses based on the size and type of boat; its contractual.

After 5 years you have the option of keeping the boat, trading in the boat with the Moorings (guaranteed value in contract) or leaving it in charter with Footloose or another charter agency.

This is our swecond year first boat and love it. You can visit them at any major boat show.

I have a contact in Tortola, Derrylynn Churchwell,

Tell her I recommended her to you. There's no pressure to buy.

Are you happy with the financial arrangement? Their advertisements make it sound like you don't have any major expenses, someone else makes the payments, Moorings manages all charters and you get to use the boat quite a lot.

Is the boat yours at the end of 5 or 6 years?

It sounds like something too good to be true.

    Sincerely,

We are owners of a Jeanneau SO 49 in the Moorings charter fleet. They call it a M494. We get to use our boat or other 494s in their fleet around the world; at all their Mooring Bases. We use our boat in the BVI and anywhere else when we use other owners' boats it is referred to as a reciprical boat or charter.

As owners we only have to pay $60/day upto 14 days and nothing after 14 days.
