My wife won't believe I said this, as I am quite a pack rat.... If you are going to be on the boat a long time, organizing the storage so that everything can be put away behind latched doors, and is easy to retrieve, this will make your life easy. If you have shelves for stowage, most should have doors made. If you go offshore, shelves will empty themselves, no matter how they are secured. The gauge of how rough a crossing was.... How much of the kitchen is on the floor?

Subject: [world-cruising] Comfortable Quarters
Hello Everyone -
I recently bought my Columbia 29 and it has a tradition layout (setee on
both sides, forward v-berth, quarter berth in rear, stove on right, sink on
left as you step down. I'd like to remodel her to make her more
comfortable - liveable and would really appreciate any advice and or
pictures of what makes a boat more comfortable to live on. I only have an 8
foot beam...seems roomy enough, just needs some work to make it more homey.
Any advice or links would be very appreciative!
Thank you!
