For the interest of sending and receiving e-mails and weather, the very best service that I have found (even if you are using SSB) is http://www.ocens.com/ I have been using it over the last 3 years and the speed of the up linked and the down linked e-mail stream is nothing short of unbeliavble. Please spend some time on the web site, rather then a lot of notes here. Bottom line is the compression software and viris scan on every e-mail is a system built for world crusiers.

They now have linked up with www.buoyweather.com to use their compression software to deliver the full content of buoy weather web site information. A down load of at least 20 e-mails will take less then a min. on Globalstar. You only pay for connect time to Globalstar (or any other connection) while you are up linking or down linking your e-mails in a "batch" at a time.

I use the system via ....

    Cell phone connection
    Globalstar Connection
    Iridiumn Connection
    Wi-Fi connection
    land line connection

What ever I have at the time that is the fastest.

I have no interest or work for either of these two companies, just a very satified user.
