I found very seldom WiFi in USVI, BVI & Puerto Rico, taking my laptop to an internet cafe was the only way to collect my home e.mail. My Sailmail on marine HF radio worked reliably everywhere, but you cannot collect other e.mail accts with Sailmail, and it is so slow that you would not want to.

be able to conduct business that way.

What has been the experience of those out there? Were we just unlucky
with our choice of places to stay (mid-priced places) on (well.
actually near) the water or inland or is there just not as much wi-fi
out there as I thought? Is it available (reasonably so as in free or
low cost) in the Caribbean, Mexico and places further South on both
coasts and the EU? We want to be careful and not encounter key stroke
loggers and the like so we would likely not be frequenting Internet
      cafes.
