    Before you ditch your engine - although it's a great
    idea - it might be prudent to mention that there are
    certain parts of the world where having an engine
    running when entering port is mandatory for sailing
    vessels.
    Likewise in VTS areas (aka traffic separation zones)
     - it's mandatory to cross the lanes at right angles
    - which, according to Murphy's Law, just might require
    the assistance of an engine to achieve that heading.
      
    But it ain't just a matter of 'the rules' - the idea
    of swinging a yuloh around as the bow of a 20 knot
    container ship approaches .... that scenario might
    result in the need for a change of underwear at the
    very least ...
