    When approached by a rather anally retentive yachtsman
    asking about flag etiquette whilst touring the Netherlands
    recently, a Dutch harbour official is reported to have
    replied "You can fly a pair of ladies knickers from the
    mast for all I care." (I *do* so like the Dutch ...)

    There's nothing in the Sailing Directions about flying
    a bicycle wheel ..... Let's hope it isn't a local
    recognition signal for "Supertanker Mooring Buoy" !
