Enough bs and personal prejudices. A mono as in every other boat
except multis has a righting moment. The majority of boats that blow
over right themselves very quickly. One of the factors in choosing a
bluewater cruising boat is the righting moment. Show me the numbers?
How many cruising rollovers have sunk? How many multis have pitchpoled
or turned turtle and have sunk? Racing sailboats do not represent the
cruising fleet. Would you use a quarter horse to pack your gear over
the Sierras. Piver and Nichols (sp??) were two early designers of
multis. Did they ever find the bodies, yet alone the hulls? Sorry but
that has just as much relevance as your comments on monos. Please
don't try to scare people just express your opinion. Better yet drop
the subject.

When a cat is blown over it floats! When a mono is blown over it sinks!!
When cats and monos have been in Tasman storms it has been the monos (
or
their liferafts) which have killed their crews!
Pick the type of boat you feel comfortable in, But I would far rather be
standing on the underside of a bridge deck. With orange non-slip paint
of
course, than sitting in a liferaft watching my keel yacht heading for
the
bottom.
