Affordability, I suppose, varies a lot depending on the customer. In my book, I'd like to find a world cruiser under 100K, which is easy to do if shopping for a monohull. In fact it's not difficult too difficult to find something under 50k in a monohull. My experience suggests the very bottom of the multihull market in this regard is the low 100's. If I'm wrong, please educate me, I'm no expert. The only multihulls that get down around this price tag are 10 year old (nothing wrong with that) Gemini's (are they really blue water capable)? So please, seriously, educate me as to what cats in the 100k range are really blue water capable? am I wrong about the Gemini's?
Personally I fell in love with a Manta 42 Mk II at a boat show last year... and have wanted a cat ever since, but I keep having to remind myself that I can't afford one (new or used). This is one of those situations I'd LOVE to be proven wrong.

Ok clearly I used poor sentence structure. I'm well aware there are blue water cats, my point/question was which of them are "affordable" and/or suitable for a first time boat buyer.
Hint... I don't consider $200k+ for a used boat affordable.

Well, since every Leopard cat (from 38 feet to around 65 feet now i think)
is delivered on its own keels from South Africa - 90% to the Caribbean i think
they have proved their blue water capabilities and their bridge deck
clearance is well very low too on the 38 through 47 foot models not so sure about
the bigger ones. I only know of one Beneteau cat the Bennie Blue and i would
not call that a blue water cat but then it is all about blue water people with
blue water mindsets - sheeesh look at Rosie Swale going round the world on a
cat enfamilie eons ago when that was a totally off the wall thing to do.
