My parents used to be that way until they realized that whatever they didn't spend would be left to me. Now I'm sure I'll never see a penny.
I'm sure someone would sail for free.
At least with you he got more than he paid for :)

Yes that would be a sensible alternative, but he is too cheap to pay
for someone to do it, and he doesn't like other people on his boat.
So he's just stuck with me, as I'm free.
I've even suggested that we charter there with a friend but he thinks
that is too expensive.
