Here is my new and improved letter to Senators
Dole and Burr from North Carolina...
Feel free to use and modify it any way you
wish...
Just use it!
Subject: Restricting NOAAs release of weather
data is Wrong.
Senator Burr,
Senator Santorum's bill to restrict NOAA and NWS
from releasing their weather information products
to the public is morally wrong, especially so,
considering the Taxpayers are the ones footing
the bill.
In addition, as a sailor, I rely on timely
weather reports from NOAA and NWS to keep myself
and my family safe while enjoying North
Carolina's abundant coastal waterways.
Weather report "repackagers" such as Accuweather
and The Weather Channel, should not be allowed to
build a virtual monoply based on TAXPAYER OWNED
data.
Vote NO on this Bill and encourage others to
vote against it as well.
My family's safety depends on you to help defeat
this Bill.
