In the note I sent to Sen. Santorum I made the point it was a safety issue. I said I used a simple weather radio to listen to current weather conditions and projections 24 hours per day from any location without anything more complicated than a handheld AM (or similar freq.) radio. No satillites, cable TV, pay-per-view, etc and I was able to stay abreast of potentially life and death weather conditions.

Don't know if it'll help - he's looking to save 1000+ jobs and the votes that go with them - but we can try. Better than doing nothing and thinking later, "Geez, someone should have done something."

    Sincerely,

I think there could be a safety issue angle here. If we have to wait until commercial providers download the info, package it and make it available (when, on the 6PM news) theh the time delay could be crucial. We could split the difference saying that commercial providers could have the info rfor general public consumption but interest groups where the info is critical (sailors, aviators, mountaineers, etc) would have access to the info directly.

It's all about money and there isn't any money in the sailors, etc, the groups are just too small. I think it's a compromise worth pursuing.

Save your energy and just send money to his opponent. Unless you
have more to spend than Joel, forget trying to get Santorun's
      attention.

cc your Senators, Santorum couldn't care less what you think. I use
to live in PA and he was my congressman before he was a senator. As
I said, if you live in PA vote for his opponent, otherwise contact
your senator, as I'm doing here in MD. You are not going to get
      through to santorum.
