    I've always thought, the bigger the zinc the longer it will last.

    Another thought consideration to sacrificial zinc question.

    A properly grounded and protected boat will fair better than one that is
    not.

    In addition to our single prop zinc, (which hasn't wasted away in a number
    of year and is still in serviceable condition), I hang a button zinc with a
    connector cable and clamp, over the side and ground it to the boat. (The
    extra zinc use is easy and quick and stored in its own container while
    underway.)

    Daily observation and use of the sacrificial zinc, has shown us a
    substantial differences of cathodic activity in various anchorages and
    marinas.
