    This has not happened*

I am one who tends to learn lessons like this the hard way. I can picture myself, having set the hook in the 'sheltered' anchorage. Rowing ashore, thinking how cool it is that I saved a couple grand on a 'real' inflatable.

I go ashore, and again pat myself on the back as I deflate the dink, and it is small enough to put in a bag and carry with me as I do my shopping. After a day in town, I return to the dock, and blow up my trusty 'quicksilver' and fill it with treasures I have just acquired.

The lesson would come, as the all too thin vinyl snags on the pier as I row out, and deflates. Leaving me swimming in the midst of the field of flotsam comprised of the groceries and supplies I have just spent the day buying.

Swimming back to the boat, holding the one half-soaked loaf of bread above my head in the rising chop..... I might wish I had bought something else.

    Just a thought.

Thanks for the input. I was only planning on it being a short term
solution. I'm hoping to build a nesting or just a small dink this
    winter.
