This is a good web site for looking at historical storm tracks:
    http://weather.unisys.com/hurricane/

The National Hurricane Center is also a good resource for hurricane
    info: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

Climatologically, hurricanes tend to form in the Gulf of Mexico early
in the season and off the coast of Africa later. August - October
tend to have the most activity, but never rule out a strong early or
    late season tropical storm.

If you have insurance, they will dictate your cruising grounds during
    hurricane season.

    Kathy
