My understanding with card board boxes is that the ones you pick up from the
grocery store in third world countries will likely contain some hitchhikers
along with your groceries. There is nothing wrong with cardboard boxes in
general.

Evert,
I was always taught that having cardboard boxes of any kind onboard
was an invitation to cockroach critters. I think that putting them in
individual plastic bags with a couple those moisture containers would
be a good idea as would be the vacuum sealer. But cardboard boxes?
I'd rethink that.
Good luck.
