A Sat Phone is just a phone...point-to-point communications. A radio
can reach anyone who is listening. The phone is more secure. The
radio is more likely to get a response if you aren't calling someone
specifically. Both could be useful on a boat. If I could only afford
one, I'd pick the radio, because I think it's more useful in a
cruising application. YMMV.
