FYI, I use a book search website to buy a lot of used and out of print books - www.addall.com - it searchs theu dozens of book stores in US/UK/Aus for books you specify - I searched for "Annie Hill" - keyword - "Sailing" and it returned a lot of "Sailing on a small budget" with prices starting at < $20 and going to over $40 (the columns are sortable) - so you can definately save some money. Just check the store location to avoid high shipping charges -

New books are also available -

    No affiliation, yada, yada...

That's a good point, but my own recollections of what other ong distance
cruisers have said to me is: glass is NOT good in a knockdown situation, or
any breakage situation. Bad seas, wet floors, and glass slivers don't mix
well. I haven't read Annie Hill's book yet (it's on order), but I think I'd
rather replace my plastic now and then ... but I guess it's a personal
choice, and one you learn by trying out both ways. Thanks for the input! :-)

      Best wishes
