As I'm new in this group I herewith give a short introduction about
myself and my sailing, as the moderator kindly requests. My wife and
me own a steel 62 feet staysail ketch which is located in Alkmaar,
The Netherlands. In order to beat the costs we use the ship partly
as a charteryacht in Netherlands waters, but we also do a lot of
sailing with family and friends, not only in Netherlands waters, but
also on North and Baltic Sea. Our sailing experience extends from
the Channel Islands near the Normandy coast in France up to Tallinn,
Estonia. Although we have a house in Alkmaar, we mostly live on our
    ship.
Our ship is a Melquiades 60, designed by George Buehler from
Freeland, Whidbey Island, WA, USA. Interior and sailing plan are of
my own design. George Buehler placed a photo of our ship on the
    homepage of his website: http://www.georgebuehler.com/bigmel.html.
More photos are to be found on my own website:
    http://www.johannahendrika.nl. Some pages are in English language;
there's even a photoreportage of a cruise in Estonian waters made by
a good friend, who joined us at the time.
We'll be happy to answer any questions about navigating a ship like
this, living on it, technical aspects, saling areas we're familiar
with or anything you can think of.

    Greetings, Tjeerd Boersma
