As far as cooking UW, well, I'm a batch, but...you must be able to use the
stove when close hauled in chop, I know some think not but the day will come
when such stuff will make you hungrey for a hot meal. Pot holders, gimbles,
lead weights, friction dampers, bungee cords, whatever it takes, use it.
I go for the simple stuff, biskets, pancakes, rice beans and pasta, cans and
etc, but once in a while I like a really nice meal...hopefully I can get a
good cook to make one for me! ;-) And the dogs like the same food all the
time.
I am of that ilk that the pressure cooker is a very good thing, cabbage does
well in nets, and canned corned beef is cheap, a little pepper and maybe a
couple of carrots and volia!, a feast in a few minutes.
Also one new thing I found recently (Ivan experiance) the US military Meals
Ready to Eat (MRE's) are VERY tasty. Irridated, I presume. Lots of varity. I
wonder if they can be got on the commerical side for reasonable $, that
would solve trying to find a good cook in the middle of the ocean...for me
anyway!
Nothing like fresh ground coffee, smoked sausages, pancakes with maple
syrup, and a fair breeze to enjoy it with.-Ken
