    Hi Joe,

    I a dutch newsgroup my attention was drawn to a
    fuel-cell. Take a look at
    http://www.max-power.com/fuelcell/
    It makes running the engine for charging obsolete and
    it's capable of running a modern low-pressure
    watermaker, silently.....!
    On the other hand it is costly and poses the need for
    another tyoe of fuel (I found a price of USD 0.95/Gal
    somewhere for methanol).
    But it's another, elegant way of getting power when
    you need it.
