Hello all
I wonder if you would be kind enough to offer your thoughts on the
real world performance of the various power generating units /
systems available.
I am putting together a reference spreadsheet for power consumption
and average charging power available in the real world.
What sort of figures of actual charge are you getting from the
various units in Amps and for how long - ie -how many hours per day -
assuming caribbean / tropics or similar.. - are you getting usable
generation at anchor and at sea.. how are they when running in
average trade winds ?.. I realise it's a bit like 'how long is a
piece of string' - but it would be good to know your experiences..
same with towed gennys (easier to calculate at sea and no use at
anchor :-))- also, regarding solar panels, what real world power
outputs and for how long assuming the same areas of cruising (I
would prefer fixed panels due to structural mounting considerations
(ie - I would prefer adhesive bonded panels as opposed to frame
mounted)
Many thanks all
Joe n Jayne.
