    Hey Mac,

Remind us what boat you are looking at again?

It'll be fun to follow your adventure.

    Hi there,
Just want to let y'all know how much I appreciate all the inputs,
ideas, and opinions concerning my post. All sounds very good. We're
getting ready to go and look at the boat first hand as we got the broker to
make a video and send that to us. It really made the decision on
getting a flight, on a week end, and going to view the boat. I suggest that
idea to anyone who is looking at a boat that may be some distance away.
Ask if they will send a video.
I agree with assessing older electronics. If they're still in good
working order then that is good to go. When they break I guess it gets
beneficial to replace them with the new, usually smaller, units. I've
had the pleasure of using the older style LORAN systems, and radars, and
know how much space and weight can be saved with replacements. Even
radios have taken a good reduction in size/weight. Although I feel that
some of the older tube type HF radios perform better.
All in all, we've been watching this boat for about 6 months.
We've done a bit of comparison between different types, makes, and what we
want to do. I've looked at different boats and loved the lines,
capacities, and such, and I think we'll end up making our offer and see where
it goes. I've learned that everything is subject to change without any
prior notification and things don't always go the way one would want.
So, if it doesn't happen then we will press on. Now, if it
does.....Well, I'll be screaming like a little girl and be as happy as a new daddy.
Of course, Sharon says I'll be spending a lot of time down at the slip
    stroking the new addition.
I've got a friend down here that we're going to rent his boat for
a little while. Between doing that, and hopefully sailing our own boat,
we're going to sail for a year before making any big blue water plans.
Foul weather days will be embraced as well as those beautiful days.
This is going to be a big step up in size of vessel so learning the
characteristics of a larger keel boat is the goal. My friend is a Master
Captain and we'll enlist him in our endeavors.
So, we've got a plan. We talk often on the postings on this site
and how everyone is totally supportive of everyone else. Whether someone
is a beginner, or a seasoned sailor, one couldn't ask for more.
Hopefully one day will come where we can meet some of y'all and share the wind
    of a day. TNX again.

    MAC
