    Hi y'all,
My lady, and I, have been looking for a blue water cruiser to
realize a dream we've had for many years. We were separated for a
couple of decades but fate has brought us back together. Since we've
crossed into our 40's, I guess it has become imperative to not waste
anymore time. We've looked at a few and have done a bit of homework
on deciding what would really fit what we want to do. I have to thank
all of y'all for all the discussion that goes on as we are learning
different things besides being entertained. If anyone has a question
about the "y'all" thing it is due to my being in, and from,
    Louisiana.
I have a question. Why is it that some persons, selling a boat,
have this idea that they should get what the boat may be worth along
with an increase for all the little creature comforts they've added
over the years? We were looking at a Gulfstar Independence that had
quite a bit of work done to it. The owner did all this work in the
belief he would get more for the vessel. Some say, as well as the
listing for the vessel, that there was $125,000.00 spent to upgrade
it. When the boat was sold it went for approximately $100,000.00.
What is interesting is that the listing wasn't removed and the new
owners, if the vessel is really for sale, are expecting to get what
the other owner wanted. It's just a bizarre thing I have seen.
We are looking at another boat and it seems the same line is being
followed with this one. We are planning on going to look at the
vessel and if it is as good as it has appeared then we may make an
offer. They'll probably go into fits when we take what they want and
subtract that 40%. :-) But, who knows.
Well, I need to get my nose back to the grind stone. Y'all take
    care, ya hear?
