In the Bahamas there is sometimes a mandatory water charge in marinas
of $8 to $12/day regardless of what you use. (Be careful - sometimes
it is brackish water which makes tea turn green and I'm told that
coffee made with it is also awful) This is primarily for boat
washing. RO water is more often by the gallon- from 11 cents/gallon
in the Caribbean to 20 to 50 cents a gallon in the Bahamas are prices
I've seen. They also charge for water some places in the Florida
    Keys.

We have used less than 60 gallons of water in a week when we were down
at the Dry Tortugas and that included some showers and doing dishes
etc.. We have so much water that it is hard to keep it 'fresh' in the
system. But it does mean that we don't have to buy expensive water if
we aren't going to be gone more than a couple of weeks. We do not
have a watermaker because we don't feel that we need one in the
    States.

You can always carry jerry jugs both of water and of fuel. We usually
have two 5 gal. jugs for diesel and we fill the jugs up at the pump
rather than putting it into the tank. Then after it has all settled,
we filter it into the boat tank.
