I didn't even know it was the boat I was looking for, until I saw her
      and stepped aboard. It's a 1989 Ericson 32-200. I'm in negotiation
with the (first and only) owner right now, but as far as I'm
concerned, she's mine, we're just haggling over the price now. I
can't believe I had overlooked this model boat. There are a lot of
Ericsons for sale on the west coast, but this is the only 80's model
I've found. She was one of the last Ericsons built before Pacific
Seacraft bought the molds. The other Ericson's I had seen are the
older boats from the 70s and 60s, which are really good sailers, but
nothing special inside. The layout of the 32-200 is as perfect as it
gets in a boat this size, aft head with wet locker **and** aft cabin
with quarter berth and standing room and hanging locker, in a 32'
aft-cockpit sloop of 5 tons displacement. It's almost like magic.
There's even good access to the engine.

She's never been cruised, which means I get to make her over in my own
image, without having to remove somebody else's old cruising junk.
She's lying in Sausalito, and I'll have to keep her there for several
months while I wait for a berth to become available in Marina del Rey,
close to where I live in West L.A.. Oh poor me, I have to sail in the
S.F. bay on weekends for a while. <snicker> In about 3-4 years, I
expect to be ready to unplug, sell off the last of my shore crap, and
cast off for Mexico and points beyond.

And as if she wanted to make sure I'd never forget her, as I was
standing on the dock after looking at her, I stepped backwards to get
an overall picture with my camera, and stepped right off the dock and
fell into the water. So I guess she can also summon sea sprites!
      Cool! hehe....
