Mike,
Sounds like a good plan to me. Will you be retiring
then or will you be taking early retirement and just
going and then planning to return to work when you
have to?
I've never seen a copper clad bottom. What is it
fastened with and how do you deal with electrolisis
(sp?)? Is there a way to see if the wood is getting
"burned" from the current? Or, is this not a problem
at all? It just seems like quite a few years ago, I
saw some wood that had been "burned" by electrical
currents and fasteners where a certain part of the
wood was eaten away. Perhaps it only applies to a
certain type of wood? It's been too long for me to
remember directly.
When you say "keep it simple" do you mean no electric
windlass, ham radio, or radar as well as no autopilot,
computer charts, and all that run through a computer
and any number of other electronic gadgets?
