My name is Mike D. My future wife Patricia and I live in a small
town in Central Maine. We are working folk, Im a machinist, she is in
HR.
We sail what we hope will be our cruising home some day. Our boat
is a 30 LOD 38 LOA George Buehler design, cutter rig,double ender
formerly named Seahorse, which we have renamed Halcyon.
She is constructed of spanish cedar topsides and oak bottom on oak
frames. she sports a fully copper clad bottom and full keel, tiller
stearing and a wind vane auto pilot. Many more up-grades to come as
we approch our sail away date in about 2009.
Some time before that we intend to relocate to the southern US,
downsize our lifestyle, and have a good jump off point to the Islands
and Carribian.
Our outlook is to keep it simple and electronics to a minimum but
still take advantage of what is available to make our cruising safe
and enjoyable.
