Your best bet is to make your own custom log sheet, print and bind a bunch
of them at your local copy shop. Everyone lays out their logbooks slightly
differently. With experience, you'll find what works best for you.
The format I use most regularly includes two different types of pages:
Left-hand pages are set up in a table format to regularly record time,
position, course steered, speed through the water, course and speed over
ground, bar pressure, wind speed and direction, cloud cover and type, and a
couple open spaces for other regular checks that might be required (bilge
levels, engine temp, etc.)
Right hand pages are open, lined pages for recording other comments and
events: change of watch, sails set and struck, significant wx changes,
landfalls, waypoints, etc.
