    I understand there are some exorcism rites associated with a renaming that
    will sooth the sea gods. AFAIK, virgins are optional! ;-)

    I'm the second owner of my boat, but she's had three names. The original
    owner had a major change in his life, and I believe he renamed her after
    that change. I figure if there was bad joss involved, he got it.

    My renaming her has so far been without incident....
