Gentlemen,
I don’t think that it maters that it does, or does not stop a slug. A vest
and a hull have nothing in common, so Lew’s test is interesting but
pointless. A sandbag will stop the slug, but that will be a very poor choice
of building material for a boat. There are a lot of places to get the
engineering for a hull and there are lots of materials to build with that
are more then adequate for the job. Why do people feel its necessary to
defend their choice of material with such religious fervor? There is no one
choice that is correct. Lets discuss the strengths and weakness of each
choice and decide on which one we want to use based on sound reasons.
