I own a Landfall 39 now. We (my wife and I) bought it with intentions of
it being our retirement cruising home. (ours was a project boat since we
have years to go still). We've had her for a few years now and last year we
took her offshore to Bermuda in company with 3 other boats. All made it OK,
but the three others all talked about bad weather, rough seas, tough going
or similar. We were just fine with no problems. Our biggest problem was one
crew member (of 3) suffered from sea sickness for part of the trip each way.
The big seas that others talked about were a joy ride for us. When the
weather was wet, we were able to maintain our watch from the pilothouse.
Possibly most important, in the anchorage, our boat was party central! It's
a fine design with lots of room.

P.S. I also maintain a yahoo group for owners of Landfall or Vagabond 39's.
We're a small group (12 or 13) and one of our members has recently left
Seattle, bound for Tahiti and beyond.
