I recently got the book D&UCOY by the Tech. Committe of the Cruising
Club of America and it's packed full of great information about
choosing and outfitting an offshore yacht. But I don't seem to find
anything about transom types, which is something I was wondering
about. What's the story on canoe sterns, reverse transoms, sugar
scoops and wineglasses, insofar as the shape of the transom relates to
suitability for blue water cruising and passage-making?
