Hi folks,
Just returned from another delivery from Cape Town to Fort Lauderdale.
Between the Virgin Isles and Cuba I was again boarded by the USCG. I
have never had a problem with these boarding's and found the guys
courteous and friendly. This time I was delivering a new 38 foot cat
that had already been US registered (although it was still to reach US
waters).
However, this time I was informed by the officer of the boarding party
that the boat had to be documented and had to display the documented
number on the stern section of the starboard hull. Can one of our US
folk please enlighten me as to this requirement or point me to a URL
that explains such a requirement in a nutshell and does not give a whole
lot of "mumbo jumbo" that you have to be a lawyer to understand.

Sorry this is off point but can you tell me about the boat. I am retiring soon and your input would be great to have. Any and all information please..
Thank you
