I picked up a used SEA 222 marine radiotelephone that transmits 120
watts SSB on the shortwave marine bands. I know they have gone to VHF
and UHF now but it was cheap. It receives any shortwave frequency
from 1000 Khz to 25 Mhz but will only send on one frequency, 2182
Khz. I don't understand, it seems that if someone wanted to
communicate with someone in another band they should be able to
transmit to them on that band.
I found some for sale or rent on the internet but couldn't find an
instruction manual. A lot of boats have them on board though.
It has 358 pre-programmed channels and 100 programmable channels that
I haven't figured out how to access. Maybe it will only transmit on
those channels? Does anyone have a manual or know how this works?
