    Tim,

    Yacht flotation tanks are inflatables [by onboard compressed gas tank]
    placed in strategic locations aboard to be activated in the event of
    excessive water being taken on and to displace water, keep the boat
    afloat until repairs can be undertaken, water bailed and rescue measures
    implemented.
