    Hi Lynn,

Re: Consulting a pharmacist, as you know they are highly qualified
and much more than pill pushers. In fact it's their business to know
everything about drugs, their uses, contraindications, efficacy etc.
As to their diagnostic skills, I have always found them to be
excellent, and of course, we are talking about minor ailments and
    wounds.

Even in England (where they cannot sell prescription drugs without a
doctor's prescription). One is encouraged to consult a pharmacist
first for trivial disorders. And on non prescribed medicines can be
cheaper to buy retail than to pay the prescription charge ($9) if a
doctor says you should have it. So going to a pharmacy is fairly
common practice in Europe generally. Private "walk in" clinics are
also common in the Med if you do need a doctor. These are usually
well equipped, professional and not frighteningly expensive. You are
likely to be directed to one by the pharmacist if they think it is
    necessary.

A Triple A is an Abdominal Aortic Aneurism repair; I can't recommend
the operation for a fun thing to do but it's better than dying a
    sudden death :-)

Re: The African coast: Morocco and Tunisia should be fine to visit,
at least I have heard nothing to the contrary and they
    are 'different'.

Re: Boat size: The berths in the Med are metric (10mt 12mt 15mt) and
the difference in marina prices between sizes is considerable.
Therefore if you are only two people it is worth considering staying
under 10mt if finance is a consideration. Have you though about
flying to Britain or Holland and buying a boat there. The trip to
the Med down the Dutch and French canals (2 or 3 months) is worth
the effort alone. Also if you research your makes and models and are
willing to do a bit of refurbishment while you are cruising you
could even make a small profit when you come to sell the boat and go
home. Something like a old Moody 33' for instance.

    Just a thought.

    David
