Hi, I think the answer to the VAT question in the EU is to put your
boat in customs bond. You can't move it without taking it out of
bond but you can live aboard. I know for a fact that this applies in
Spain and an enquiry to the customs of the other EU countries would
no doubt answer this question properly.
