Do a google search of piracy at sea and you will be surprised at what
you find. Piracy is alive and well, even in this millennium.

Subject: [world-cruising] Incidents of Piracy
Is anyone on this list familiar with any contemporary incidents of
piracy of cruising sailboats these days? Is the Indian Ocean / South
China Sea area still considered to be a high risk area for piracy?
I have read that incidents of piracy have increased considerably since
the days when the Soviet and US Navies had a rather competitive drive to
a strong presence in most of the world's ocean areas.
