I'm in a very similar situation. 55, divorced (my choice), except I'm not
interested in a cicumnavigation unless its the Caribbean. I'm planning on going
alone with visits from my girlfriend(s?!).
If you are looking for a female mate, do a keyword search for "sail" on Yahoo
personals. You will a few women in your area that are very interested in sailing.
Some with their own boat.
For other crew, check the internet boards for "Crew Available" lists. Or, perhaps
more sueccessful, spend time around the marinas and get to know others interested
in the same thing and propose a partnership.
