Ahhhh. US Health Care. A favorite subject.
(up on my soapbox here) (grin)
IMHO health care ~itself~ is just fine in the US.
People come from all over the world to our medical facilities for care
and treatment.
It's paying for it that becomes the problem for the average person.
It kind of goes back to the time honored saying of "You get what you
pay for".
We're not a socialist country where the government is supposed to be the
answer to all ills.
Nor are we even a "democracy" where "the people rule" directly.
We're a somewhat democratic republic where the people actually elect
their own rulers.
Have been ever since this country was established back in the late
1700's.
Along with our desire for our well-known personal individualism comes
the personal responsibility of individually standing on our own two
feet. Something that great portions the current generation fails to
recognize.
If a government is supporting ya, they're also regulating you to a
degree directly consistent with the amount of support. This is life.
One of the invariables. With support comes a proportionate lack of
freedom. Ya can't have it both ways.
max freedom = max independence
min freedom = max dependence
As to importing drugs from other countries,,,,, In my humble opinion,
seeing the level of regulation that our Canadian brothers and sisters
put up with from their government ....... I'd feel ~quite~ safe with
drugs that come through normal channels in ~their~ country. Now don't
get me wrong here. I LIKE Canada (except for their weather -- grin).
Now there are some other countries .......... ('nuf said) :-(
(soapbox mode - off) :-)
Back to the Bahamas. --------- just what are the usual sea and weather
conditions between the mainland and the islands around the mid November
time frame ?
The Aquarius 21 footer is definitely NOT a tender boat to sail, she'll
take 45 knot winds with just one of her two reefs in --- but --- she
also doesn't have really good cockpit drainage as do some of the open
stern "flow-thru cockpit" type boats.
Of course that could be partially cured with a ~Large~ scupper designed
to carry any great overage of water right through the laz and out the
stern. Would need a flapper of some kind to keep following seas from
entering that way though I'd imagine.
But to think of all the laz space I would loose........ :-( :-(
The group's thoughts ??????
