    Hi John,

Thanks for the info, of course Moorings could be a source, it just slipped my mind, although it have been there all the time. Good idea, thanks.

What we are doing to rebuild her? Well we are not too much physically involved in the rebuild. My wife and i decided to keep on working as hard as we could to save as much as we could and leave the building to professionals. That way we are saving time and ,believe it or not, money on the massive boat job and fulfill our dream before we are too old to take her on the seven seas.

Why are we rebuilding her? Because her interior was rotten and filthy and the design not to our taste anyway. But if you get a boat in the Caribbean for half the price you pay in Europe, then it doesn't matter how she looks inside. We knew this after the survey and calculated what we will get after a rebuild and it ended up cheaper than an immaculate boat in Europe. The main thing is and was, they do not build strong heavy boats anymore, this one is one of the last of it's kind. Now we get a boat that is custom build to our needs and taste.

It has taken us 5 years till now since we got her, but the first 3 years were more to clean everything out and to plan the new interior.

She will be ready for the sea next spring. Actually all the questions you have are answered on our website

    All the best,

    Chris

    Béa and Chris,

I can't offer any direct advice but since no one has
piped up with any other suggestions....

Apart from contacting the Beneteau people where you
would probably get the company design information,
since it is also a Moorings 51, have your tried to
contact the Moorings staff? _Someone_ there (one of
    their delivery captains/crew?)_should_ know something
about this and be able to tell you what you want to
    know.

Now, I've got a few questions since I am in the
process of looking, and, although not the design we
are looking for, the info it might have some bearing
on what we finally get. What are you doing to rebuild
her and why? How long has it taken to get to the point
where you are now? How long before you will have her
    finished and ready to go?

    Thanks and hope this helps.

    John
