Many of us on the list are self employed and some of us may be
looking at this from that point of view as well as thinking about how
this would fit with cruising if we work from our boats. Is the NASE
insurance plan one that pays well or is it in the class of having
insurance but it pays for little? Does the provider bill or does the
individual have to pay the cost up front and the insurance
reimburses the policy holder? If that is the case, does it take the
insurance a long time to reimburse?
Does this insurance cover someone cruising? I would presume that it
_might_ if we were in the U.S. but that it probably would not, given
earlier posts, in foreign waters and foreign countries. If the boat
were documented (not state registered) and the injury incurred
onboard would that constitute U.S. property since I remember hearing
(a long time ago and that could be wrong or my memory is) something
about U.S. documented boats being regarded as U.S. property when in
foreign waters?
