    Dean,
Sadly enough, I can't say I'm suprised. The insurance issue is
only going to become more and more wide spread, and the situation
will get much worse before it gets any better.
Is anyone aware how many people in the US are faced with filing
bankruptcy now, simply because of medical bills that they cannot
pay, because they either didn't have any insurance, or their
insurance companies refused to pay a claim and the burden fell on
the client/patient? The number of bankruptcies filed in the US has
risen to an all time high, because of this.

I surely don't pretend to have the solution to this very
pressing issue, but again, I strongly advise stuffing your $$$ under
your mattress...at least then you'd have some $$$ to cover your
medical needs, and you surely have more medical choices available to
you in the event you actually need something ( as in...not being
forced into choosing a doctor from their "preferred" list).

Dean, what plans does your employer have now as a replacement
    for BC/BS?

    For Now,
    Ocean_Dancer~
