Three stories indeed!
Nicely told....
Yet for each there are three more....
And for each three of those there
may be again three....
Sailors are as disparate
as their vessels....
As different as all waves...
As unique as each wind from
every point of any compass...
We who do sail truly understand
that there is no guarantee,
no security, no standard of
performance or return of time
invested.....
We just simply sail.
Therein lies the secret.
We just sail.
No matter our craft, no matter
her length, breadth, or value.
No matter our goal. No matter
our destination.
We just sail.
Sail when feeling chipper.
Sail when feeling blue.
Sail when dry.
Sail when wet.
Sail when we sing.
Sail when we cannot.
Sail when hungry.
Sail when fed.
Just sail.
If the wind blows we sail.
If the wind does not we drift.
Yet ~ the wind will always come
to blow again.....
If we can drift well~
We shall sail well again.
Each sailor understands that he
may never, as he sees land fall far astern~
find his footing ashore again.
Each sailor realizes he may never see the
dawn expected well that night before.
There in each sailor's soul lies a deep
contentment with such realization.
Sailors are a different breed of cat.....
SeaCats.... if you will~
Entirely content with that which is of the
utmost importance:
The very moment at hand.
SeaWolf
