Has any one heard of boat designers named
    Andres Maritz and Roberto Benino

They have designed an aluminium sloop

i have seen dozens of taffrail logs for sale in second hand marine
stores. when you buy one new, it usually comes with more than one
¨fish.¨ the ones for sale in second hand stores usually only have one
fish, the reason, they make great fishing lures. in other words, a
large fish can eat your speed meter. a chip log may be a good
alternative, measuring as accurately as possible the time it takes to
pass a chip of wood from bow to stern, then doing the math to figure
out your boat speed. there´s a formula for that but i dont know it.
      does anyone have that formula?
that would be something good to know.
however, i think it is important o note that both these methods
measure speed through the water and dont take into consideration the
current which can make a substantial difference in some places.
