Chris,
Your list seems OK with one exception. There is no log? The reliance on
GPS alone is not such a good idea and to work out a DR, you need a log.
I have experienced a loss of GPS signal for over an hour before whilst
crossing from southern Africa into the Caribbean. The problem is that
you do not know if it is going to be permanent or only a few minutes and
if you do not have a log, you can only "guestimate" the distance sailed
over a given time. Being able to calculate your DR using your log,
direction and time, factoring in leeway and drift, may mean the
difference of finishing a trip safely or being another statistic of
those missing at sea. Navigation works better if you have the old
methods at hand in case the modern approach gives up the ghost. Also,
invest in a plastic sextant and take a course that can teach you at
least to be able to calculate your noon position. You will enjoy your
trip a hell of a lot more with the knowledge that if the electronics
gave up on you, you could still navigate via other more traditional
means.
