Hi Chrissi,
Great report! It's nice to know that there are still some places in
Venezuela that are still safe and where cruisers are still welcome.
All too often when a pirate/violence alert goes out, the entire
country is painted with the same brush and it usually simply isn't
so. In the U.S. it is like saying that "X" city/state has high crime
because some "skinheads," or some other generally considered negative
group, has created a disturbance against cruisers in their town while
"Y" city/state only a few miles away welcome cruisers and having the
entire U.S. branded as anti-cruiser or as being unsafe for cruisers.
It takes reports such as yours to get the word out especially to
those of us who haven't yet started and are worrying about where to
go and take our families. Those who are out there but in a different
quadrant of the world may already know via other lines of
communication or not. So, it is still important to get the word out.
Thanks for doing a great job with a great report. Hope to see more of
them coming as you continue your cruise.
Rick
