    Hi Louis,

Good to hear that things are okay. Sorry to hear that business is so
good that you can't leave right now. OTOH, you are working and the
    cruising kitty is growing.

At 33 you're postponing having children? Although they might like us
to believe it, I don't think medical science has quite gotten to the
point where they can guarantee a healthy, happy family at any age.
Hope you have figured out where the nursery is going to be on the
boat. :-) I often wonder if I had had a boat for my kids to grow up
on if they would have turned out at least a bit better than they
have. From everything I have read, there is a good chance they would
have. Take him/her/them sailing and just keep on going for as long as
    you can.

Haven't heard too much about Isabel other than it is a category 5
storm and is expected to hit the East coast someplace. That was a day
or two ago so it might have changed a bit by now. Seems like the last
I saw on the satellite photos, it was a bit North of Florida moving
West. Could be wrong about that though. Hope that if it hits,
Synergy's slip is _really_ protected, she's insured to the hilt, and
she's tied off and anchored (if possible) so that she doesn't beat
herself to death or come down on pilings should it be a near or
    direct hit.

A 28 year old diesel would be a big worry for me too. A Volvo can be
an expensive repair bill. Seems like "everyone" is repowering with
Yanmar these days but there are a lot of Perkins out there too. Good
luck. With a sailboat it's always nice to know that if the engine
goes out, you can still sail and the batteries can be refilled with
    solar and wind power.

Good luck with the trip to the keys. I was in Key West (by land)
about 10 years ago. It was quite busy even though that big hurricane
had gone through Homestead not too long before. Would have thought it
would have had a bigger effect. I guess off season it would be a nice
place but in season it is a bit of a zoo; or at least was when I was
    there.

Good luck with work, getting away, and everything else.

    Rick
